Here are some of our Frequently Asked Questions
What is CBD?
CBD is short for cannabidiol. It is just one of many different molecules known as cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. CBD has many beneficial properties and is commonly used to promote overall wellness.
What is CBD oil?
CBD oil is a natural oil which is extracted from the flowers and leaves of the cannabis plant. It is used by people all over the world for a variety of purposes.
What are cannabinoids?
Cannabinoids are active compounds produced by all cannabis plants. They account for most of the benefits of cannabis. Cannabinoids found in plants are technically called phytocannabinoids, while cannabinoids produced by the human body are called endocannabinoids. Cannabinoids interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), which promotes homeostasis.
What is hemp seed oil?
Hemp seed oil is distinct from CBD oil. While CBD is extracted from the cannabis plant’s flowers, hemp seed oil is produced by pressing the plant’s seeds. Hemp seed oil is similar to other seed oils such as corn oil and sesame oil. Hemp seed oil has its own benefits, but it does not contain cannabinoids such as CBD.
What is the difference between CBD and hemp?
Hemp is a variety of cannabis that is grown for food and fibers. CBD is a molecular compound found in the plant’s extracts. Rise Botanicals CBD is extracted from a proprietary strain of hemp known as PCR hemp, or phytocannabinoid-rich hemp. This proprietary strain is far richer in CBD and other cannabinoids and terpenes than the basic hemp plant used by most CBD producers
Is your product safe?
There are no known incidences of illness caused by consumption of CBD oil. Also, all Rise Botanicals products undergo rigorous testing to guarantee they are free of any potential contaminants.
What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?
Hemp and marijuana are both types of cannabis. Marijuana contains a cannabinoid known as THC, which causes a high and is known as a drug. Hemp contains negligible amounts of THC and is unlikely to cause a high.
What is CBD used for?
Many people use CBD to promote a state known as homeostasis, the body’s natural tendency to maintain a healthy balance in all its systems. Cannabinoids are an integral part of the human body’s ability to regulate and balance a wide variety of physiological systems. CBD is also used by some for specific purposes such as supporting a good night’s rest or maintaining well-functioning joint
Are there traces of THC in CBD oil?
Raw hemp extract may contain small traces of THC.
Can I see your lab reports?
Yes, our lab reports for each batch are posted on our website. Click here to see our most recent lab reports.
Why should I choose CBD over medical cannabis?
Medical cannabis is another term for medical marijuana. Marijuana contains THC, which is a cannabinoid that causes a high. Medical cannabis can cause severe impairments. CBD is not psychotropic, meaning that it does not cause a high. It can be used while working, driving or undertaking any other physical activities such as exercise and sports.
Can your products cure/treat my condition?
CBD oil has not been approved by the FDA in the treatment of any conditions aside from particular seizure disorders. Consult with a qualified medical professional to determine if your condition could benefit from CBD.
Will I feel any effects from using CBD products?
Some of the effects reported by CBD oil users include improved mood, restful sleep, increased attention and focus and others. However, organic compounds such as CBD can produce different effects in different people. Your results may vary.
What are terpenes?
Terpenes are a class of volatile hydrocarbon compounds produced in the flower clusters of the cannabis plant. Terpenes are what give cannabis its distinct aromas and have been utilized by humans for millennia in aromatherapy. Terpenes are recognized as safe for human consumption by the Food and Drug Association and are used in a wide variety of food and cosmetic products.
What is a CBD tincture?
A CBD tincture is a preparation made from CBD extract. It is used orally (swallowed) and can also be used in cooking or baking. Our tinctures do not contain alcohol, although many traditional tinctures do.

How often can I take CBD?
CBD can be taken multiple times each day, or at particular times of day, depending on the reason it is being used.

Will CBD get me high?
No. Unlike marijuana and THC, CBD is non-psychotropic and is extremely unlikely to cause a high.
Will I need a marijuana card or doctor’s prescription to use CBD products?
No. CBD is not a drug. You will not be required to produce a medical marijuana card in order to purchase CBD online. However, some states have laws allowing doctors to recommend CBD to patients for particular conditions.
Does CBD have a shelf life?
CBD itself does not have an expiration date. However, CBD oil products can degrade and should be used within a certain period of time. They should be stored in airtight containers either in the refrigerator or in a cool place away from direct sunlight. Please refer to the product expiration dates for more information.
How should I store CBD products? Do I need to refrigerate them?
We highly recommend either refrigerating CBD products or storing them in a cool place. Always keep CBD products in airtight containers and store them away from direct sunlight and heat, which can degrade certain compounds in CBD oil.
Will CBD oil show up on a drug test?
Under normal circumstances, our products are not expected to produce a positive result for THC consumption through testing conducted using industry-standard sophisticated testing methods. Rise Botanicals cannot, and does not, represent or warrant as to the results that any individual may experience, and advises you to consider the risks of incorrect detection prior to use of this product.
Will CBD help me if I’m healthy?
Because of its ability to help support the body’s effort to maintain homeostasis, CBD is often used by those who don’t have any specific concerns.
Does CBD interact with other medications?
Much more research needs to be done in this area. If you are taking prescription medications, consult with a qualified medical professional.
How long will it take to receive benefits from taking CBD oil?
In some cases, such as when using a vaporizer or tincture, users often report almost immediate results. However, most of the effects of CBD are subtle and take some time to be detectable — usually half an hour or more. Personal results will vary.
Where is your hemp grown?
Industrial hemp is like any other crop. It is farmed all over the world, including approximately 40 U.S. states. The special strain of hemp used to produce Rise Botanicals products is grown in the USA.
Is your product organic? Vegan friendly?

I have a gluten allergy. Can I use your products?
Yes. All Rise Botanicals products are gluten-free.
Can I give my pet CBD?
Yes, high-quality CBD is safe for pets. Most customers use our Canine Worx capsules and tinctures for dogs, our Equine Worx capsules and tinctures for horses and Feline Worx capsules for cats. We do recommend that you consult with a veterinarian who is familiar with your pet and knowledgeable in the use of CBD oil in pet health.
What is the endocannabinoid system?
The human endocannabinoid system, or ECS, is a system of neurotransmitters and cell membrane receptors. Neurotransmitters such as endocannabinoids are produced by the central nervous system and interact with cannabinoid receptors on cell membranes to adjust physiological processes at a cellular level.
How do I choose a product that is right for me?
The ideal method for taking CBD depends on the reason for which it’s being taken as well as your preference for its format. If using CBD oil for general wellness, tinctures or capsules are recommended. However, gummies might be preferred for their flavor or vapes for their ease of use — it might take a couple of tries to find the perfect product for you.
